Title Searches Required for Surface Rights Board Applications

You will require a title search that is less than two weeks old if you are planning to submit an application to the Surface Rights Board (SRB) regarding:

  • compensation or terms of the agreement;
  • damages;
  • rent review;
  • non-payment of rent.

You can acquire a title search a number of different ways:

  • Accessing myLTSA through the BC Land Title and Survey website to request the title yourself.
  • Submit a request by mail.
  • Hire a lawyer, notaries public or land surveyor to complete the title search on your behalf.

The information provided to you on the title is outlined on the BC Land Title and Survey website.
