OFFICE CLOSURE
With much regret I must announce the closing of the Farmers Information Service (FIS) effective March 31, 2026. In the very near future, the FIS website information will be housed under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food website. Please watch for updates as information is made available.
It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve the farming, ranching and landowner community over the past five years. I am grateful for the opportunity to have met and assisted many of you regarding the impacts of resource activity on your land and in your community.
For future concerns on provincially regulated resource development, you can contact the BC Energy Regulator community relations team through the BCER main phone line, 250-794-5200, or by using the ‘contact us’ form on the BCER website.
For federally regulated pipelines, you can contact the Canada Energy Regulator.

Welcome
To the Farmers Information Service
The Farmers Information Service (FIS) is available to help farmers and landowners in the Peace River Regional District and the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality navigate their interactions with the oil and gas industry with the objective of a positive outcome for all parties involved.
We provide information at no charge to help landowners manage the challenges they experience while working with oil and gas development and to help them protect their interests while accessing opportunities that come from such development.
We are here to help farmers and landowners understand the regulatory aspects of the oil and gas industry and know their rights when working with resource companies. We are also available as support to prepare for meetings with companies and will refer landowners to professional services when appropriate.
